Man shot dead; two bodies found

Karachi

A young man was gunned down in the Risala police limits on Saturday.

The 25-year-old man, whose identity could not be ascertained immediately, was shot dead by two men riding a motorcycle on Baba-e-Urdu Road near the Civil Hospital.

His body was taken to the Civil Hospital for a postmortem. An MLO said the man suffered three bullet wounds to upper parts of his body. Police seized empty casings of a 9mm pistol for forensic tests.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Bashir, 50, was knocked dead by a vehicle near the Quaid’s mausoleum while he was going on his motorcycle.

Two bodies found

Two people were found dead in separate areas of the city.

The body of a woman in her 40s was found along a road near Ghaghar Phatak in Bin Qasim.

Police shifted the body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre after it was spotted by a passer-by. A medico-legal officer at the hospital said the wounds on the woman’s body suggested that she was killed in a road accident.

The identity of the woman could not be ascertained by the time this report was filed.

Separately, the body of an unidentified man in his mid-20s was found at the Mewa Shah graveyard in Pak Colony.

The body was found by a gravedigger. Police shifted it to the Civil Hospital for autopsy.

The medico-legal officer said the man was strangled to death.
