HANGU: The police recovered five kidnapped persons from Kajor Talab on Friday and arrested the three accused, a senior police official said.
Talking to reporters on Friday, District Police Officer Dr Mian Saeed Ahmed said that the five persons including a constable had been kidnapped from Kata Kanri area on December 1. He said the kidnappers had been demanding Rs5.5million ransom for the release of the hostages.
The police received information that the kidnappers along with hostages had camped in Kajor Talab in Navay Dhand, he said. “A
police party raided the area and recovered the kidnapped persons after an exchange of fire,” he said, adding, that the three kidnappers Muhammad Mustafa, Hazrat Daud and Salamat Shah were also arrested.
He added the kidnapped persons included Amir, Abdul Qadir, Muhammad Israr, Sadiq and Waqas. He said the kidnappers were wanted to the police in cases of murder and kidnapping.
