Delimitation in people's interest: APC

KARACHI: Central Vice President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan (JUP) Siddique Rathor Monday said it was impossible for peaceful political parties to carry out an electoral campaign in the presence of no-go areas in Karachi.

He expressed these view while addressing an All Parties Conference (APC) convened by JUP here.

The participants of the APC said the new delimitation of constituencies in Karachi is in the interest of the people.

They demanded a ban on parties doing politics 'of intolerance and violence' before the elections.

JUP Karachi President Mufti Muhammad Sabri, Birjees Ahmed of Jamat-e-Islami, Qari Usman of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), Nisar Shah of Pakistan Muslim League-N, Subhan Ali of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Anwar Khan of PML-(F) and other leaders attended the APC.
