Bandit killed in shootout with shopkeeper

Karachi

Two suspected bandits were killed during a shootout with a shopkeeper in the Saeedabad police limits on Friday.

Three armed motorcyclists pulled up to a car engine oil shop in Baldia Town No-4 and ordered the owner to hand over all his cash at gunpoint. However, when one of the employees resisted, the bandits opened fire, but missed their target and the bullet ricocheted off the wall.

Acting swiftly, the owner of the shop took out his own pistol to defend himself and opened fire at two of the armed men, both of whom sustained injuries as a result of the shooting. The third bandit, on the other hand, managed to flee from the scene.

The police reached the spot and took both the injured to the Civil Hospital in a critical condition. During initial interrogation, the injured identified themselves as Babar, 26, and Tariq, 20, while the escaped bandit was Asghar. Babar and Asghar breathed their last on the way to the hospital.
