3 cops, dacoit killed in Jhang shootout

JHANG: A gun battle between police and a group of notorious criminals left three cops and an accused dead in Punjab’s Jhang district, Geo News reported.

Police said acting on a tip off regarding the presence of Ramzan aka Ramzani Baloch, a proclaimed offender involved in robberies, murder and other serious crimes, conducted a raid in Chak-175 area of the district.

The police said the criminals opened fire on the raiding party which led to a shootout which lasted for seven hours.

They said that three policemen and a dacoit, identified as Sohail Sheikhana, were killed in the fight while Ramzani, carrying head money of Rs1 million, and his aides managed to flee.
