Karachi
Sindh Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon on Friday said that the issue of the construction of the Kalabagh Dam would be tabled in the Sindh Assembly on December 6, as the controversy had been re-ignited following an order of the Lahore High Court, triggering resentment, especially in Sindh.
He said: “We will table a resolution against the Kalabagh Dam project on 6th December in the PA because this project is anti-Pakistani as well as anti-Sindh.”
In a statement issued here, Memon said that the PML-N and Shahbaz Sharif’s statements about the construction of the dam proved that the party did not believe in the integrity and stability of the federation.
Memon said that: “Sindh, Balochistan and KPK have already passed resolutions against the construction of the dam, but these resolutions are not being given due importance.”
The information minister said that it was wrong not to give importance to the consensus of the three provinces.
“The Pakistan People’s Party has
awarded autonomy to the provinces to strengthen the country, as when the provinces are strong the entire country is strong and the stability of the federation is more durable,” he noted.
