Rupee remains flat

KARACHI: The rupee remained flat against the dollar on Tuesday amid slowdown in the demand for the greenback by importers, said dealers.
The rupee closed at 95.98 against the dollar in the interbank forex market as compared to Monday’s closing of 95.94, said dealer.

The rupee remained range-bound since the start of this week due to almost equal supply and demand for the dollars, said dealers.

A large International Monetary Fund (IMF) debt repayments scheduled on November 26 will put downward pressure on the rupee, said dealer, adding that the dollar-rupee parity may cross 96 in the coming days.
