PESHAWAR: Residents of Hayatabad on Monday criticised the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) for the poor drainage system, unhygienic conditions and bumpy roads in Phase-VI.
Speaking at a news conference, Hayatabad Welfare Society (HWS) General Secretary Ameer Zaib and other elders said that they asked the PDA time and again to take notice of the potholed roads and poor drainage system in Phase-VI at Sectors F-8 to F-10, but to no avail.
They said that due to clogged drains the filthy water was entering into their houses and creating problems for the residents. They also complained that sweepers were not performing their duty and various markets and streets in sector F-8 and F-10 were giving the look of garbage dump.
“Despite paying heavy taxes to the government, we removed the remains of the sacrificial animals during Eid by ourselves,” Ameer Zaib complained. The newly constructed Children Park, he said, was also in a dilapidated condition due to the negligence of authorities concerned.
The elders urged the PDA to eliminate the stray dogs roaming in the streets as they were posing serious threat to the residents.
