ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner Justice (Retd) Fakhruddin G Ebrahim has accused the Punjab government of using official sources in the media campaign of PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif.
PTI Information Secretary Shafqat Mehmood in a letter to the ECP informed that Punjab Information Secretary Muhayudin Vai, who is a government employee, was using official position while contacting print and electronic media office advising them to block PTI activities in their respective newspapers and channels.
Shafqat Mehmood said that the provincial government was misusing official funds in the PML-N party campaign in the garb of official advertisement printing the pictures of Nawaz Sharif on top while Nawaz has no official position in the provincial government.
He called upon the Election Commission of Pakistan to ensure stopping such type of activities by the Punjab government and guarantee fulfilment of election rules and regulations by all parties and leaders.
