LAHORE: The passengers of branch lines demanded of the administration of Pakistan Railways to increase the number of bogies in the trains.
Talking to APP here on Friday, President Daily Passengers’ Association (DPA), Muhammad Majid said only three or four bogies were attached to the trains running on branch lines and the passengers, including ladies and children, suffer due to unavailability of seats in trains.
He said there was only one train 125-Up Lasani Express running on Lahore-Narowal-Sialkot section and the PR reduced its three bogies, which were not sufficient for the passengers and they had to face hardship during journey.
Shahid Mahmood, a passenger of Narowal section, said families could not travel because of overcrowded trains.
PR Divisional Superintendent Lahore, Javaid Anwar Boobak said hundreds of bogies were stationed in the workshops for repairs which were almost stalled due to shortage of funds. He said the PR administration would try to increase the number of bogies on branch line trains.
