Jamaat for grand alliance against govt

JAMAAT-e-Islami Ameer Syed Munawar Hasan said unity of all patriotic forces in shape of a grand alliance as soon as possible was need of the hour to get rid of Zardari led corrupt government, besides avoiding rigging in the upcoming elections.

He said this during a meeting with Pakistan Awami Mahaz delegation led by its president Arshad Chaudhary and Secretary General Manzoor Gilani at Mansoora on Saturday.

He said the rulers were using different tactics to delay the general elections for a year to prolong their tenure. “If the patriotic forces do not form any alliance, the rulers will get another chance to fulfill their agenda,” he added.

Arshad Chaudhary assured the JI Ameer of his cooperation. JI Secretary General Liaquat Baloch and other JI leaders were also present.
