SUKKUR: The Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, addressing the ground-breaking ceremony of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Township Scheme in Khairpur, on Tuesday said that the government had been trying its best to provide the people with food, shelter and clothing, and a housing scheme for the poor was a step in that direction. He said that the scheme was spread over 80 acres, having 1,500 plots of 100-square-yard each. He said it was his desire to develop Khairpur. The chief minister ordered the commissioner of Sukkur and the chairman of the housing society to complete the plotting within a month. The chief minister later held a meeting with the principal of the Mehran Engineering College, Khairpur, on the ongoing development schemes in the college. Shah also watched the final match of the Third Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto floodlight football tournament.
