FJWU holds talk on education and gender issues

Rawalpindi: The Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU), in collaboration with the British Council, organised a session on ‘Citizen Education and Issues of Gender’ on Wednesday.
Bachelors of Computer Arts Department In-charge Farina Iqbal welcomed the UK delegation on behalf of FJWU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Samina A. Qadir.FJWU Registrar Dr. Maryam Rub gave a brief presentation on the university and its achievements. She also threw light on different education policies of Pakistan.

Addressing the participants, English Department Chairperson Dr. Sarwet Rasual said that today linguistic, religious, political and cultural barriers are blurred so much that inter-impact of societies has merged as one of the significant realities of social life. She discussed the role of FJWU in supporting localise delivery of citizenship, policy and curriculum. In addition, she also shared her personal experiences with the delegation.

Members of the delegation also shared their views regarding content and methodologies of education for citizenship at the FJWU.They also visited University Daycare Centre and campus radio 96.6 MHz. They also recorded their interview for the campus radio and appreciated the efforts of the Department of Communication and Media Studies for establishing such a marvellous radio station in the university.

In the end, Dr. Maryam Rub presented the university souvenirs and gifts to the British Council delegation members.Leicester University Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Douglas also visited Fatima Jinnah Women University. He gave brief introduction of his university to students and answered queries of students.
