Elections to decide country’s survival: Shahbaz

LAHORE

CHIEF Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that the Punjab government of the PML-N, for the first time in national history, has introduced a culture of merit and transparency in every sector due to which even international institutions have appreciated its policies. He asserted that nobody had been able raise a finger at the Punjab government, during the last four and a half years. He said the incompetent government of the PPP had distributed largesse among its cronies thereby destroying the national institutions. Shahbaz said was talking to delegations from various districts here on Wednesday.

He said the next general elections would not be for formation of governments but for the survival of the country in which PML-N would achieve a thumping success on the basis of performance. He said the federal government had given nothing to the people, except pain, while the Punjab government had provided them relief.

The chief minister said the issue of unjustified treatment being meted out to Punjab over loadshedding was vigorously raised in the Council of Common Interests. He said the Zar Baba and Forty Thieves had mercilessly looted Pakistan for four and a half years and such a worst kind of corruption was perpetrated that even the most corrupt were also ashamed to see it. He said the days of looters and plunderers were over now.

The CM said that as a result of corruption by the leadership of the PPP, relations of Pakistan with friendly countries were no longer the same. He said the economy had been destroyed and people were sick of incompetent federal rulers who had not paid any attention to solving the problems of the masses due to which the people had been unable to enjoy the fruit of democratic system during the last four and a half years.

Shahbaz said the Punjab government was implementing a revolutionary development programme which was boosting the standard of living of its people and the trust of the people in the Punjab government proved that the provincial government was utilising all resources for solving problems of the masses.
