The partially convertible rupee is
currently trading at 54.97/98, weaker compared to its Thursday’s close
at 54.70. The rupee opened at 54.87 and touched day’s high of 55.02 and
low of 54.87. The November currency future was trading at 55.11/12 with
a spread of 0.0025 and a volume of 483,419. The contract opened weaker
at 54.98 against its previous closing of 54.91/92. The open interest
(OI) stood at 1,449,653 up by 3.69% compared to its previous close of
1,397,980. The rupee had closed at 54.70 on Thursday, while the Reserve
Bank of India’s (RBI) reference rate stood at 54.95/96.
SINGAPORE: The euro fell against the dollar after German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said euro zone finance ministers ended their discussions on the next tranche of loans to Greece without agreement on Wednesday, with plans to meet again next Monday.
