LAHORE: Spokesman for Pakistan Muslim League-N Senator Pervaiz Rashid has dispelled the impression created in a few newspapers that the PML-N has finalised the selection of its candidates for forthcoming general elections for which district committees, set up by the PML-N, are performing this task. Senator Pervaiz Rashid said that, in accordance with the Constitution of the Pakistan Muslim League-N, the selection of the candidates for national and provincial assemblies, was made through central and provincial parliamentary boards.
The candidates are asked to submit their formal applications through the parliamentary board. Senator Pervaiz Rashid said the responsibility of the district committees was only to review the political situation prevalent in their respective districts and to look at the developmental, administrative and political performance of the members of the parliament. These districts committees have no role in the selection of the candidates, he added.
