With the growing rate of employment in the country, the unethical practices in hiring process also find to be increasing. It is often seen that many job applicants do unethical practices to get into the organizations. In fact, some organizations are also involved, encouraging the practice by not following a proper documentation process in the time of joining. Such practices not only create complications to the organizations but also lead the entire system to havoc - "who are the genuine professionals and who are not…?"
It is important that we condemn these practices from every possible ways.
For any employee, it is so important to understand the company as a whole, its policies and the code of conducts besides his/her JD/KRA/KPI. Understanding the company policies helps an employee to avail every eligible benefit from the company.
No wonder, there are people who are doing job for many years but do not understand the meaning and importance of relieving letter/ experience certificate, and often confuse with the resignation acceptance letter.
Relieving Letter/ Experience Certificate is the certificate of employment. It is as important as the degree certificate which everyone ensures to get from the University/Board on completion of the course. The degree of sincerity people pay while joining a company, the same sincerity is required while separating from the company.
One without the relieving letter can be assumed that either he has not completed the separation formalities or absconded from the company without any prior notice given to the company or may be altogether a fake experience. In all cases hiring such candidates becomes very risky to the organization as its performance will be a matter of concern. It is always advisable that employees complete the separation formalities properly from the current company before joining any other company.
On the other side, HR personnel should start feeling responsible to encourage their employees to follow the employment ethics. In practice, it is found in many organizations that within the department itself conflict arises and bypasses the selection process without the proper documentation is done, just to meet the short term target. The Human Resource Department should be known for its genuineness and its efficiency in managing Human Asset in the organization; which includes selecting not only the right candidate but also the genuine candidate at right place, time and cost.
We must not overlook the developments and austerity that the Regulatory bodies of various industries are bringing in with respect to the norms of compliance. It's a clear indication that one should understand why being genuine is so important in one's professional life. We never know some regulatory body coming up with the strict instructions not to consider any experience what so ever, which has no proper proof.
In short "Being not perfect is always acceptable than being fake".
